Who is this Textile Junkie chick?

One who really dislikes writing about herself. Not enough of course to dismiss the idea of having a blog in which one normally writes about themselves, but enough to put off the about me page for eternity.

I never know how much to tell - to much - well is just to much information. Not enough - just sort of leaves you hanging. I will attempt to update this page whenever I feel some critical “about me” information may be missing. :-)

  • I was born and raised in Orange County, CA - and although I’ve been in NY for 13 years I still call CA home.
  • I have a husband and 4 children - we are a mixed family (yours, mine, and ours). Ours is the newest and he just turned 1.
  • My favorite color is orange - but I look awful in it - so I never wear it. I’m a black wearing clothes type of person. Well known in my small community for my black skirts with flowers. I have many black skirts with flowers. Lately I’ve been trying perk it up a bit - so I’m moving towards brown. Hey it is a step up in the color connection, and I do love all the brown/pink stuff going on so I guess pink is entering into my world also.
  • I’m very competitive - and at times can even be a graceful loser
  • I love monkeys!! Not the real ones - although I do like those - but all the monkey paraphernalia (*note to self: must check spelling of this word) like sock monkeys and such. I call my hubby “monkey man” and the kids at times “monkey child” - as in monkey child!! stop jumping on the couch. But with the husband it is all sweet and mushy - monkey man I love you!
  • I love wool - nuff said
  • I’ve been knitting almost a year and spinning just a few months. Prior, I quilted, did some needlepoint, and general sewing type of stuff. I love the idea of making my own cloth.
  • I love vintage - books, fabrics, clothes, crafts. I’m really loving it all right now.
Going on with the vintage - I love thrift stores. Not only for the thriftiness part - but for the unique items that can be found there.
