And with the start of summer comes the start of many knitalongs that I’ve decided to pursue. You know how I love me a knit along, well starting them at least.
So today is the official start of Summer of Socks, Summer of Lace, and the hardest one for me but much needed, Summer of Stash.
I’m not sure yet which sock pattern I’m going to do first. I think in the morning I’m just going to blindly dip my hand into the sock pile and pull out yarn at random. Many of the yarns I have already have tentative plans and if I happen to pick one that doesn’t then I will start digging through the queue for the perfect pattern.
Tonight (well early morning) it’s all about lace for me. I have just cast on the Flutter Scarf in some Possum Laceweight by Cherry Tree Hill. Boy is this stuff lovely.
Speaking of Knitalongs I never did do my “hey, look! that’s me!” about my participation in Larissa’s book. Knitalong: Celebrating the Tradition of Knitting Together. This really is one of the better knitting books I’ve picked up lately, and no it’s not just because I feel a special kinship with it (even though I do), it really is a great read with some KA patterns. For a real, and impartial review check out Knitters Review.
All your going to get here is - hey look! That’s me!

Oh the irony of the girl that can hardly keep up with a knitalong let alone finish one in a timely manner making it into a knitalong book. Some where in this house is a Meathead waiting for adornment still. Yet I can’t help myself. I just love the idea of doing it together, my way. :)
Must get knitting! Have a great weekend all!
Oops I almost forgot again! My first contest winners were Jen, whose handiwork I’ve admired for a long time, and Crystal (aka mommystimeout) who I’ve come to know via Ravelry. Thank you all for joining in on the fun.

What?! No “Branches Out” KAL with you? lol
Is this why you haven’t been to knitting? You’ve reached the big time and just don’t have the time in your schedule for the ‘little people’? ;op
Woohoo! You’ve told me about this but it’s one thing to actually SEE it, vs. just hearing about it. Congratulations, now don’t you feel better about the project already?
