Again the days are zipping by - I feel like I say that all the time - but it is so true. Zip, zap, zing, before I know it two weeks have gone by. Thankfully, it’s been more the fun type of busy for the most part. Then again who knows, because do I even remember last week? Well parts.
It’s another sun shiny day so I’m attempting to do this quick like because I made the mistake of mentioning a trip to the lake to the kids yesterday and now they are raring to go. Honestly so am I - but I’ll keep that to myself :P
wasn’t done with this before taking off - and now we are back :) It was a beautiful day to be at the water! Even if all I got wet was my toes because the water was like ice and my feet were numb within moments.

Now back to our regular blog post.
Last Tuesday after reading Kirsten’s blog, and seeing her linen stitch cowl, I knew I too was a follower. All during knit night that cowl was stuck in my head, and when I realized I had the perfect yarn for it I became a little obsessed. Yes Jess, that’s the reason for my glazed far away looks (the excuse I’m sticking to at least). As soon as I was home it was cast on time. Then I became totally excited with linen stitch in the round, there may have even been mad laughter, but I absolutely could not stop, and before I knew it - it was done. I was happy and oh so satisfied.

And I’m loving the inside just as much - it’s reversible too!

One lesson learned: When you ask daughter to model neck wear on our first over 80° day you don’t get smiles.

I actually started and finished this before Kristen had a pattern written up, but it’s the same as her Chikcadee Cowl which is now available. Which I highly recommend. It’s quick, it’s easy, it’s lovely, it’s linen stitch in the round! and so much fun. All the details can be found on my Ravelry project page.
Because I am a true follower, and honestly had to find out if I could still, here is my cartwheel.

I had to do like a gazillion cartwheels for that one photo! and why I never thought to change out of the skirt to make the whole process easier - who knows? Most of the photos were not so elegant looking (if that’s what you want to call it).

There’s even video but I’m not posting them here - you’ll have to hunt those down on my flickr account your darn selves :)
Have a great weekend all!

LOL Oh man, I miss you now that I’ve read this post, I’m going to LOVE it when Tuesday comes and Knit Night rolls around. :)
I bust out laughing so hard that everyone in the villa stopped what they were doing to ask me what so funny. Thank you for the smile.
And lastly, I LOVE the cowl! It really makes the most of the yarn, and isn’t that the yarn you bought when we went to WEBS? What a way to make the most of a great deal!
Way to go on the cart wheel! Not sure I can do one anymore…and not sure I want to try! heh heh
I love your cowl! The colorway is perfect for it!
I can’t believe you have a lake where you can wade barefoot, and yet your trees haven’t leafed out yet. What a juxtaposition. Great looking cartwheel. Perhaps your daughter would be happier wielding the camera to let you model the cowl?
What is the yarn you used for the cowl? It is perfect for the project.
So that’s what that look was for - I thought I was just being boring. ;o)
Lovely cowl!
Looks like you have all kinds of fabulous reasons to not blog. :D
Ooh, that linen stitch cowl is gorgeous, I love the yarn you used! Your cartwheel photos are great, and hey, at least you can do a cartwheel- I’ve never been able to pull it off!
Love the cowl! The yarn shows off the stitch pattern so well!
It’s a good thing that skirt is long!
I love the cowl! This would look great in handspun too!
Thanks for the link
LOVE that linen stitch! The fabric it creates always looks so cool.
If only I could do a cartwheel! Way to go.
