Wow, I can’t believe it’s October 30th, and I still have not cranked up the heat. This new apartment may be lacking in character, but boy is she insulated especially when compared to the old homestead. While reading the Harlot last night I was inspired. I’m going to see how long we can last before having to do the big crank of the thermostat. Should be interesting :)

Luckily I have some new socks to keep me warm - my only socks completed for this years Socktoberfest.

Pattern: Slipped Stitch Rib from Sensational Knitted Socks
Yarn: A Swell Yarn Shop Duet Sock Yarn in Urban Cowgirl
Modifications: Knit Toe up using heel from Wendy Knits Asparagus Socks pattern

This weekend all I did was spin, spin, spin (pictures later). I also spent a few precious hours going nowhere on my Tangled Yoke Cardigan, let’s just say I did get her tangled. I’m now finally moving forward again – but it’s much slower than I would like. The cabled part you actually have to pay attention to while knitting so it’s hard to find the quite time needed to actually work on her and make progress.

And WTG Red Sox :)

Those socks are fantastic! I love the colors!

You’ve beat me on the heat thing …. I turned on the heat for the first time in the apartment last night. After I had to scrape frost off the windshield the other morning, I figured that it was time.

Nice Socks! They look so comfortable and cozy.

I was wishing I had been knitting some Red Socks while we watched the Series but Holiday Knit Season has commenced for me. Next year!

That’s a terrific match of yarn and pattern. Love the contrasting heels and toes.

Beautiful socks! I love the contrasting heels and toes. (I always do contrasting heels and toes when I can.) And a great combination of yarn and pattern — interesting enough to keep you going, not too fiddly, perfectly balanced.
