So much to do and so little time, I can’t believe Rhinebeck is tomorrow!
I’m a square (yes most already knew that) and here is a picture I dug up from last years show. I will most likely not be sporting the same hat :) Saturday I’ll be with missy and little man in tow. Sunday I’ll be alone and a bit skiddish. No, not because I’m without children. This year I have gone off the deep-end and will be a participant in the sheep to shawl competition. Eek! How did this happen? I’m really starting to get nervous about the whole thing.
I got an email last week from some of my team members saying wouldn’t it be great if we all wore hand knitted red socks (you get points for team attire – who knew).
I dug through my stash, and I really do have some beautiful red sock yarn. Of course all of it is very fine, and I know myself well enough to know, that socks were not going to happen in a week on size 0 or 1 needles. So I dug a bit further and found something a bit thicker.
Not totally red but more red than anything else, and they are going pretty quick on size 3 needles. The second sock is now almost done. I have about 15 more rows and the ribbing left – this I can do.
Later this afternoon my goal is to become proficient with the hand carders. Wish me luck!
Oh and spread the word: The blogger meet-up will be in the wide sidewalk area outside the food building (Bldg E) at 12 noon- both Saturday and Sunday.
See you there :)
