One thing that has always excited me about Webs is that they have shopping carts. Regular, put a weeks worth of food into shopping carts, at a yarn store. Crazy scary. On one hand it would be so cool to fill one of those suckers up with yarn and fiber goodness. On the other – one still must pay for the shopping cart madness. This does not stop me how ever from having visions of Supermarket Sweep being held there. Can you imagine?
Any ways the last time I was there, there was a lady with three(3), yes three shopping carts filled to the brim. My jaw hit the floor with a “wow”. Apparently this was such a mass of yarn that even the employees of the shopping cart wonder store were swept up in the mass acquirement of fibery goodness. Then it was slipped to me on the down-low (always wanted to say that :) that this lucky person was a shopper for Nicky Epstein, or so they thought. Now that’s the kind of job I would excel at. So if you’re a knit designer and need a personal shopper for yourself give me a call. Please…
Back to reality. I finished this cute little hat to go with the already mentioned booties. Now I can call the gift complete. I did have a couple of false starts before finding a pattern that fit the yarn, my mood, and the booties – but I think I can call this one a success. The original has some cute crochet flower embellishment but I could not figure out a baby safe way to make the embellishment removable for washing so I skipped it. The yarn is the same handspun super-wash merino used for the booties.
A bit of progress on Tangled Yoke has been made. She is still keeping me entertained even though I’m just working on the plain stocking knit portion. I did go ahead and order another size 5 needle for my options set (I finally broke down and ordered these – we are still in the honeymoon period so no real feelings yet) so I can do the sleeves on 2 circulars.
Wish me luck because tomorrow I’m taking the kids to the fair. They are a little freaked out about Kevin Bacon’s brothers eyes, but I have assured them that the Bacon Boys will not be there because it’s Derby night. Ooh I love me a good smash-um-up derby :)

I LOVE that hat! It’s adorable. Is there a pattern?
Your Tangled Yoke Cardigan is off to a beautiful start, too.
You’re lucky that hat didn’t come in my size because the colors are perfect. ;) Also liking the cardigan, it’s very mushroom and lovely.
Can we go to Webe ‘Chelle? Can we? ‘Cause you KNOW I’ve never been there before. *pout*
I really want to make this. Must motivate to swatch…must. swatch.
