Just a quicky because for some reason I feel the need to connect. Could be because I missed my knitting girls last night and that one night really helps keep me grounded in my fiber pursuits. Well those Tuesday nights do so much more than that, but I’m midway through a major decompression and I’m totally lacking any thinking skills at this moment, needless to say I need those Tuesday nights.

Instead of knitting I played the mommy is not really here game. You know when your home, but your really not supposed to be at this time, but you have mad things to get done, so you lock yourself up in the room, and the kids are to act as if you were not even there until 10pm rolls around which is the time you usually arrive home on a Tuesday. Let me just tell you it’s sort of scary what goes down when mommy is not here, but that’s a whole other post. Also I should note that they don’t totally get the game because many interruptions took place, and me yelling through the door “mom’s not here” did nothing. But once again I’m digressing.

Last night I managed to knock out a modest foundation piece for a fairy/tinkerbell costume (have you seen what this girl wears?), part of a Robin Hood costume (which could also sort of pass for a Peter Pan but whatever) and some Captain Hook wear. All I have to do now is add the lacy bits to the fairy, whip up some wings (which in reality will be attempt #3 because I have a problem wire and the ability to bend it into a wanted shape) and figure out if it would be easier to finish the bits of Roy’s costume as Robin Hood or Peter Pan - I’m going with whatever one is easier and he will just have to deal :-)

I guess I should mention that it’s Spirit Week at the kids school. So everyday there is a theme in which they dress funky. Friday is the big one - Fairytale day (aka who’s bright idea was this after all Halloween clearance is gone and when holiday madness has begun) There is talk of snow this weekend - part of me is hoping it starts on Friday.

Tomorrow is the hubbies birthday - his hat is done (thankfully) but nothing else. I’m thinking some food and cake might be in order.

Pray for snow (maybe - if I get this fairy stuff cranked out there better not be any snow) and wish me some luck. Now I must pass out and get some sleep.

And since I’m here anyways I might as well help measure the speed of a meme plus I find the whole thing very interesting. (oh I’m also pinging here)

I did miss seeing you, but I assumed you were busy with the kids.

They do know they owe you, right? ;)

I did wonder why you were costuming them thus at this time of year. My kids’ schools don’t do Spirit Week, luckily, because I’m completely sewing impaired. I’m quite impressed with your creativity: I’d be recycling the Halloween costumes.

I missed you ‘Chelle, you’re the spirit of Knit Night, you know that right? :)

I’m very proud of you for trying to help your kids out with spirit week, do they know how lucky they are? They owe you BIG TIME.

Will we see you on Tuesday?
