All day long I’ve been thinking it’s Friday, can you say let down. Any how since it’s such a beautiful day I figured I would try to get some shots of some current WIP’s.

First we have my sleeve swatch of Ivy. I’m really loving how it’s turning out, so far so good, I have gauge.

Behold my silk/cashmere cable goodness

This yarn, that at one time felt so silky and smooth to my fingers, all of the sudden feels like sandpaper. Well everything is starting to feel like sandpaper - all because of this:

handmaiden sea silk is taking over my life
Handmaiden sea silk is taking over my life

Inspired by Monica and brooklynweed I started the Shetland Triangle with my Handmaiden Sea Silk given to me by the oh so wonderful Bev. This sea silk is beyond words. Once you’ve touched it you can’t put it down, and of course it has that nasty habit of making everything else feel like sandpaper, making it very difficult to work on any other projects. It’s totally captivating.

shetland triangle progress
Nine repeats down

The shetland triangle must be more like a shawlette. I’m now starting my tenth repeat (the pattern is 8 before starting the edging) and still have 43 grams to work with, so I’m still going. Not going to let any of this stuff go to waste. I’m loving the pattern, totally in love with the yarn and I can’t wait to see the finished product.

I’m really loving the yarn, I mean really l.o.v.i.n.g. the yarn. My fingers will never be the same.

I’m loving the cables in the first pic. Very pretty. One of these days I will get my hands on some of the seasilk. I got to touch some a friend hand and it really is to die for!

“Another one bites the dust…” Glad you’re enjoying the sea silk! Are you knitting the shawl from one skein or two?
