I realized today that I finished something but had not yet giving it’s official blog debut. So that’s what I’m doing now, because honestly I have nothing else. I finished Tina’s top. In case you have forgotten this is how it started.

And here is the finished shot:

The bottom is from Knitty’s Soleil and the rest is from all over the place. A little bit of me, a little bit of White Lie Designs Shapley Tank, and a little bit of advice from the book Big Girl Knits (BGK). The yarn is Henry Attics Andromeda (silk/merino blend) dyed not quite the color I wanted but had to work because I had to start knitting the darn thing red.
I was very worried about the fit, but thankfully the fit was perfect. Tina (being the shy one she is) put the top on moments after I gave it to her Sunday at Rhinebeck. The fit beautiful, the bottom rolled. Oh, how I hate that! I blocked it hard and it looked like it was going to work but as soon as she put that sucker on up went the hem. It really is beyond me exactly how to fix it - maybe if I made it a bit shorter or longer so it hit her hips somewhere else?
Things I loved about this project:
Knitting and knowing that whatever you turn out (good or bad) will still be loved because your knitting for a dear friend.
Short row bust shaping is da bomb! I had so much fun with this part (maybe a little to much fun), sadly it’s a skill I will never have to use for myself. BGK really helped me here, you know what even if your not a big girl you still need to check out this book. It really has some awesome shaping tips, plus it’s a great funny read.
Andromeda is such a lovely yarn to work with, I will be using it again.
**Edited to add**
Oh my goodness! Kate, Sawyer, Jack, what are you doing leaving me like that! Hurry up February.

You have no IDEA how much I love that top! I wore it two days in a row, to two different office buildings, just so I could show it off! LOL
I love the yarn, I love how the color looks on me, I just adore how soft the whole thing is. I made Steve take pictures of me in it and then forgot to post them. *foreheadsmack* I shall rectifiy that tonight when I get home from work.
Shorter would have made it entirely inapropriate for someone of my size, just so you know. I think it just rolls because I’m fat. No operator error at all. :)
Apparently I can’t spell. Just so you know.
THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. :) You did a fandamntastic job.
I know! COME ON FEBRUARY!!!!!
BTW - Soooo beautiful! I love it Michelle!
I love that top! It is lovely and putting ideas into my head. And I know what you mean about Lost. They might have given us some warning, but at least now I can watch Medium on its new night.
