I want a do over for the whole day. Some things just do not compute. I started the day paying money to find out that it is going to cost a mere 5,686.00 for Zachary’s needed braces. Hardly money well spent I tell you. Something just doesn’t feel right when they charge you to charge you big time.
Then…
We came home from the ortho appointment and there were like a gazzilion flies in the upstairs bathroom. It was something right out of Amityville Horror. Not a fly in the bathroom when we left but they were flying all over the place when we got home, and they were many all over the window. Not having any bug type spray I grabbed some window cleaner. Zach grabbed the fly swatter. We went into battle. He kicked me out after a few minutes (was tired of getting sprayed) so I let him have at it alone. No problemo for me. It was so wierd though. They did not travel into any other room. There was nothing strange in the bathroom that we could find, I think it must have been something outside the window. During our trip to Walley World I did buy some bug spray, just in case it ever happens again.
Then….
Chris is on vacation this week. His work called him three times yesterday. He worked the overnight and then until 4pm this afternoon. When does this so called vacation start?
Then…
A couple of weeks ago I started the lotus blossom tank. It was a hard start. Without the help of Jaya I would not have the 200 needed stitches. I brought her along with me on our little trip.
Finally at Vanessa’s house I get the chance to knit a bit so I pull her out. I knit a bit. Count is off. Can’t find mistake. I had so little done, not even the first repeat completed, so I go ahead and rip her out to start again.
All by myself I was able to cast on the needed 200 stitches and was on my way. Over the course of the trip I got her back to at least where I started mistake free - or so I thought.
Yesterday I finally had some real knitting time. Finally finished the first repeat and nearly completed the second. I picked her up once more in the evening to do a little before going to bed knitting when I notice I had flipped my needles. This happens to me often. I’m often throwing them down hastily because I only get a moment or two before I have to chase a kid or something. So I attempt to untwist them. Reality is not hitting me yet. After about 30 mins I am totally frustrated and put them down and go to bed.
Some time in the middle of my sleep, it hits me. I wake up and have to attempt to untwist these needles one more time. It was a great big no go. I finally did it. I had twisted my stitches somehow prior to joining them in the round.

Tonight I had to bring the kids to church early for a practice. They had to be there at 5:30pm, church starts at 7. So I brought my lotus blossom with me for the big unravel.

And finally

I have the needed 200 stitches cast on once again. We shall see how she goes.
As for the airy cardigan, I do have one sleeve sewn on now and that is it from the last update. It has been to flipping hot to even think about touching the mohair.

You could have taken me with you, but I don’t think I would have fit in the car with the rest of your brood ;)
