« Do Over »

Boy does it feel good to be home again - nothing beats your own bed. But boy a week away unexpectedly does certaintly throw you off a bit. I’m still having trouble figuring what day of the week it is. For instance - today I had a dental appointment, or at least I thought I did. It was actually yesterday. In my head though the appointment was for Tuesday the 17th, oh the power of the mind. When I figured out today was actually the 18th (and we won’t go into all the devices I checked to make sure they were right, because I knew today was the 17th no matter what all the computers and calanders and cell phones said) I called. Lucky me someone had a cancel the same time I was going to show up for my yesterdays appointment. So it all worked out. I guess. This new dentist of mine totally freaks me out. No novican needles scratching the outside of my face this time, but he was singing. The Temptations. Along with the two assistants. They had me scared because they were really getting into it. They even mentioned breaking out in dance. If they did, I would have been out of the chair quick. I mean how could they be concentrating on my filling if they were so into the music. Well at least they were happy. And so….

The drive to Illinoise was not as bad as I forsaw it. I mean sometimes the kids drive me crazy just on the treck to walley world (aka Walmart) so the 16 hours to our destination had me a bit weary. But it was good - oh there were moments - but it was good. So good in fact I would do it again just for fun. We did get home later than expected but that is because we stayed an extra day in Ohio. I had to drop my son off in Sandusky, Ohio, so you know he could go back from which we just came for his youth conference he was attending. So we met up with the group in Sandusky and the rest of my crew stayed at the Kalahari, The kids had a blast and I was totally worn out, but it was a fun unplanned mini vacation.

Since home life has been in overdrive. Beach (really lake) for swim lessons every morning till noon. Lunch, errands, I’m beat, it’s hot, day over, ugh. There’s more to say - but that will have to be at another time. Thank you so much for all your well wishes. It’s still very raw for all of us - but the business gives you no time to dwell - I’m thinking that is a good thing.
