The bit of nice weather has really put me in some type of knitting funk (even though it did try to snow today). I have many projects ready in my que but it is all sweaters, sweaters, sweaters. Well, I don’t feel like knitting no freaking sweater :-). Although I have been thinking I should knit off season. Summer stuff in the winter and the wintery stuff in the summer. You get the sales, and you actually have a finished knitted item to wear during the actual season it is. Well, in theory at list.
Well before I go on with the blabbering here are some project updates.
- Angelina - still not feeling the love, and also still lacking the appropriate double points for my lets seam the sleaves now so I don’t have to seam the lace latter snafu.
- Natalia fingerless mitts - well these little suckers are going on forever. Brought them to knit night tonight and all I accomplished doing was dropping 3 stitches while trying to get them back on the needles (because I took them off for a moment because I needed them for something else)
- Hubby’s Christmas slippers - well the soles are off and they are just waiting (for about 1 month now)for me to refelt them. I still can’t believe I picked the only pair of shoes he owns that are 2 sizes to big for him as my sizing device. But it is such a me thing
But I do have a finished object - a wee one :-) This is for Phyl’s bear drive, and here is my girly bear.

I got her in the mail today so hopefully she makes it to VA in time for her trip over the big blue. Lessons learned: needlepointing on knit is very different than fabric. Also attempting needlepoint after 1am makes for crooked eyes and funky lips. But I call it character.
I did much shopping this weekend. Let’s just say I love Filene’s clearance sales. 2 skirts, an “I love Reese’s” t-shirt for moi, and a t-shirt for the little man for a total of 12.45 on my first trip. Second trip yielded a breast cancer coffee mug (gift), 2 more skirts, and a cotton sweater for me. Four pairs of dockers and a pair of plugs(?? I don’t know they were cheap and his style) for the oldest son for a total of 45.00.
Oh I almost forgot I got new cowboy boots too- for a mere 14.99. Never had cowboy boots before - but I have coveted them off and on for many years. 7th grade is when it started. Saw a pair of red Danskin cowboy boots and boy I wanted them - never got them though. Now I have some brown summer time stomping boots. Hey I’m finally the country girl with country shoes! Oh if my old homies could see me now :-)
I also bought some yarn for a new project. A couple of skeins of black cascade fixation for mon petit chou. That’s right, my can’t knit a sweater funk has me wanting to knit some panties. Hey you never know until you try. They are small and hopefully speedy, and that’s what I need right now.
And what is spring without spring cleaning?? I also bought some cleaning supplies this weekend.

Yeppers it’s time for the big one. Tights and long undewear no longer needed, and neither is that extra layer of, uh, added warmth. Yeah that’s it. I’m not lazy. It’s for the added warmth I tell you. It’s needed I tell ya! Any way it’s time to come clean.
Well that’s been my weekend plus two days - much shopping and little knitting.
