With no pictures or links - because I’m doing this on the fly :-)
I can’t believe this week is already over, again such big plans but not much accomplished. Kids being home all week really throws me off.
Nicole’s room painted, um no.
craft room organize (AKA half of Nicole’s room), again no.
Did get the taxes done - woot, woot!!
To bad it’s all going to pay the taxes on the house.
Did accomplish catching up on some blog reading - and found some really cool new ones. One day (hopefully soon) when I’m not brain dead, I’ll share the love.
Reading all the blogs you actually subscribe to takes a lot of time!!
Do you have a 14yr old boy that plays the newest Tony Hawk game? Take it away- take it away now!! #1 child (with much glee I must add) stopped the game just so I could (repeatedly, over and over) observe some protesters on the side lines. Turning up the volume full blast (you know so he could really rub it in), #1 child smiling ear to ear, I hear: “Save our sheep - no more wool! Save our sheep - no more wool!” and “Hey, hey, ho, ho - the use of wool has got to go! Hey, hey, ho, ho - the use of wool has got to go!”
Yes I fully believe that video games are warping the minds of our young ones.
I did do a bunch of spinning. Slowly but surely I’m improving. I’m telling you, join a guild. The thought of having to spin in public gets you pedaling. You know, not wanting to look like a total goof in public.
I first saw/met my now guild members at the Claremont (Claremont, NY) sheep and wool show last year. It was my very first sheep and wool show. Tiny but mighty I tell you. I somehow volunteered to spin at this show. There is no shaw competition or anything. You just sit in a circle and spin (or at least that is what they did last year when I was pounding them with questions) My goal is to be able to handle this, and you know not look like a goof in public.
From here on out I’m considering myself part of New England. I know I’m in NY - but I’m just feet away from the MA border, so I consider myself legit. I must go to SPA next year!! (one reason blog reading is bad)
My favorite thing about spring being just around the corner is that there are jelly-beans all over. Chocolate is my first love, but the beans sure get me going.
Although I did not sign up for the Olympics, I did set my own personal goals. 1) to knit 2 hours min/day and 2) to finish up as many wips as possible.
I failed at both.
I did get much work done on Angelina, she’s almost finished. Just some lace work on the sleeves left to do. I had this bright idea to seam her first then do the lace part on the sleeves in the round, you know, so no more seaming would be required. Great idea- if I had the needed needles to complete such task. So now she’s on hold for a bit.
She’s also on hold for a bit - because I have lost the love. Don’t you hate that part!! When you have been looking so forward to finishing a project that you love, for yourself, that you can’t wait to wear - but then something happens - like trying it on.
You lose it.
It fits ok - but it puckers funky in the back at the sleeves.
The nutmeg brown that you so adored - your tired of because you have been looking at it for months.
So I have to set her aside for a bit - bring back the loving feeling.
I will get a couple of hundred dollars out of the tax money to spend freely, and I’m debating on what my splurge shall be.
wooley winder for the wheel
year subscription to the new socks that rock club
sign-up for master knitting program
sweater wizard
still pondering away on the many possibilities.
I did some more tweaking on the blog, but my list is still very long on things to fix, and my style sheet is crazy-mad messy. I also installed a photo album to help organize the pictures.
Going off line and not programming for two years makes you feel like a twit when you stick your pinky toe back in the water. Things I used to do without even thinking, now I have to totally rack my brain to attempt recall.
It’s so true - if you don’t use it you lose it.
Actual conversation in car:
Child#3: What’s p0rn and why is it bad?
Me: (totally not thinking in the true context) I don’t know I look at yarn p0rn almost everyday.
Hubby: ????
Me: Did I just say that out loud??
I still have the weekend to actually get something done, and I’m going for it.
Hope you all have a great one!!
