Well not really, but it’s been so long since I have been out on a Friday night on a non kid event, that it felt so goooooood to do something just for me this Friday. It took some juggling - but I persevered!! Four kids at three different places - check! Wake-up call arranged for hubby - check! (He works nights so 9:30pm is his morning) Double check with Tina about time - check! Well that’s a whole other story on how I was super early - then all of the sudden a hour late. Good thing I’m a speedy dresser. I also must start writing stuff down. My mental notes (to self in head) are failing me much lately.

Any way, I took off with Tina to Redhook for my first ever spinning guild meeting. First we met up with Becky at a Chinese food restaurant - where I ate every bite on my plate and felt like a totally stuffed pig walking out of there. Then we walked on down the road to the guild meeting. (the little walk was very much needed for myself I must say.

Like our own little knitting group - it’s quite an eclectic bunch. With men even! That knit, or spin, or weave, or crochet, or do it all. That was a pleasant surprise for myself. I felt like such a dufus in the beginning - not spinning for almost 2 months for this newbie is not a good thing. Remember that “I’m so retarted” feeling you had when you first started - yeah that was me all over again.

Now I may be the biggest retarted spinner there is on the planet - but now I’m a true spinner. I’ve been legitimized! Being the lemming that I feel I’m becomming lately I went ahead and joined the guild. It’s amazing what $12.00 can buy you. But it did jump-start that urge to treadle once again.

So hopefully sometime soon I will spin something other than rug yarn :)
