But I’m not talking about the book. Here at little house of knits we have been knitting up some scarves and we finally have some done. Yeah FO - I love it. So here are some really bad shots to show you all.

First we have one for Nicole - don’t tell her she’s been watching me knit it for months, but she doesn’t know it’s hers. And she loves it and wants it- so that’s a plus. Me being the mother I am have her convinced it’s going to her cousin Brooke for Christmas. “Why does Brooke get all the good stuff” Mwaa-ha-ha (my evil laugh again)

Blue Manos scarf

This took me forever to do because it was my car knitting. Then the bridge construction finally got done and my car knitting time went down to nothing but the occasional long light or traffic problems. The pattern (it’s not really showing well) is just a basketweave thing with a curly-q crochet edge. I copied this idea from Colorful Stitches. They have this beautiful pink one that has been hanging in the shop forever so I copied it. The yarn is Manos

Next up we have my multi-directional scarf. I love these colors.

brown multidirectional scarf

But boy do I not care for this yarn. It’s Lang Tosca, and I don’t think I will be using it again. There is also a bit of Berroco suede in the fringe because I had no brown colorway left. Again I love this yarn color wise and the long color stripes, but it pills- badly. I think due to the thickness and the acrylic content (it’s 50/50 wool/acrylic) it has. I know they have this in smaller weights and hopefully that stuff does not pill as bad. Because I do love the color - have a mentioned that? :-)

Here’s a close up- you know so you can see the colors.

ooh multi-directional close up and personal

Then guess what even Nicole finished a scarf. Like mother like daughter as they say. This is her first “real” scarf - her words not mine. Big momma is so proud :-)

Nicole's real scarf

The solid is from K1C2 and the furry stuff is ?? She picked out both of these yarns during our trip to Webs a couple of weeks ago.

Oh but there is more……..Guess what I started……a scarf

first of three scarfs for christmas

This is another Christmas gift. Again at our trip to Webs a couple of weeks ago I saw this beatiful scarf knitted up. I had the pattern and the yarn - Ta da! The pattern picture does it no justice - well for that fact neither does my wip picture. But believe me it is beautiful when done. I have three different colors of this yarn. I’m going to do this scarf (hopefully) three times, once in each color. It’s for a mom and her two daughters. I figure I can just label the box for the three of them and let them pick out the color they like the most. I have this limey-green showing, a dark forest green, and a deep purple. Hopefully I can get this together in time. Let’s just add another project to the list Michelle.
